Last Saturday's bout at the Memorial Arena in Cranbrook BC was a huge hit...and for some, quite literally.
With a crowd of over 700 people, the bar was set for the EKRDL upcoming season. Spectators were treated to a night of big hits, big blocks and thrilling spills from all four participating teams.
First bout of the night was a much anticipated rematch between Kimberley's Bavarian Barbarians and Fernie's own Avalanche City Roller Girls. The ACRG showed their rivals and fans alike, what a long winter of hard ass training and unstoppable teamwork can accomplish winning the bout 164-157. Congrats to all players for a great game!!
Second on the bill for the night was Invermere's Killer Rollbots and Cranbrook's Mountain Town Maulers. An exciting game of fresh meat jammers proving their worth, many truly, big hits and some very smart strategic work, in particular from the Rollbots, saw this team come out on top, winning 257-96.
